Dhoni has been out of action since India got knocked out of the World Cup race in the semi-final by New Zealand. He made himself unavailable for the tour against West Indies and missed the home series against South Africa and Bangladesh.
As Dhoni has said that he will not respond to questions on his future till January, the 38-year-old will apparently miss the limited-overs assignment against West Indies including 3 T20s and 3 ODIs starting December 6.
National selection committee chairman MSK Prasad has also said that the panel has 'moved on' from Dhoni to give opportunities to youngsters such as Rishab Pant and Wriddhiman Saha keeping in mind the T20 World Cup in Australia next year.
Meanwhile, while addressing a press conference after BCCI's 88th Annual General Meeting (AGM), Sourav Ganguly was questioned on Dhoni's participation in the T20 World Cup to which he said "Please ask Dhoni."
The Caribbean side toured India last year only to get defeated by 0-2 in Test matches and 1-3 in the ODIs before getting whitewashed in the shortest format of the game.
Earlier this year, Virat Kohli & Co. toured the Caribbean islands for another full-series where they once again whitewashed the Windies in all the three formats.
