WHY DID NZ PLAYERS WEAR PINK PAINT ON THEIR FACES WHILE PLAYING AGAINST INDIA?
Home > News Shots > SportsIndia whitewashed New Zealand in the five-match T20I series ended on Sunday thus creating a historic record. KL Rahul was named 'Man of the Series' for his consistent contribution with both bat and gloves.
In the 5th T20I, KL Rahul led the Men in Blue after vice-captain Rohit Sharma suffered a calf injury whilst hitting a six.
Rohit's 60 and Rahul's 48 powered India to 163 for 3, batting first. On the other hand, half-centuries from Ross Taylor (53) and Tim Seifert (50) went in vain as India pacers Jasprit Bumrah (3/12) and Navdeep Saini (3/23) crumbled the Kiwi batting line-up restricting them to 156 for 9.
Apart from New Zealand's disappointing performance, what caught everyone's attention was Kiwi players wearing pink paint on their faces.
The BlackCaps were sporting the pink colour as an act to support the New Zealand women's team ahead of their T20 World Cup campaign.
Both the sides will now head to Seddon Park for the three-match ODI series starting February 5.
