WHEN A PAKISTAN FAN "ABUSED" INDIAN PLAYERS AHEAD OF 2019 WORLD CUP CLASH
Home > News Shots > SportsIndia all-rounder Vijay Shankar has recalled an incident when a Pakistan fan abused Indian players ahead of the clash between the two teams in Manchestor during 2019 World Cup.
Talking to Bharat Army podcast, Shankar said Indian players did not react even as the Pakistan fan was recording the whole incident.
"Few of us had gone out for coffee before the game, when a Pakistan fan came up to us and he was literally abusing us. That was my first India-Pakistan game experience," said Shankar.
"We could not react. He was abusing us and recording everything. We just sat and watched what he was doing. That's all we could do," he added.
Incidentally, Shankar dismissed Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq on the very first delivery he bowled in the tournament.
In that match, India won by 89 runs via DLS method. Rohit Sharma shined bright as he smashed 140 runs leading India to an astronomical total of 336/5. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli also scored 57 and 77 runs respectively.
In response, Indian bowlers restricted Pakistan to 212 runs
