"SOME BATSMAN IN CSK THINK ITS A GOVERNMENT JOB," SAYS VIRENDER SEHWAG AFTER CSK'S 4TH DEFEAT IN IPL 2020
Home > News Shots > SportsEver since Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) which marked the franchises fourth defeat of the ongoing IPL 2020 campaign, fans and cricket experts have expressed concern and anger at the team.
Recently, former cricketer Virender Sehwag took a dig at CSK, who lost to a target of 168 KKR. Despite being in a comfortable position during the chase, KKR had the last laugh as they registered a crucial 10-run win.
With consecutive losses in the IPL matches, Dhoni’s captaincy has come under scrutiny once again because he could only manage 11 off 12 balls.
Coming back to Sehwag, he criticised CSK team as a whole stating that the players are treating the franchise as a government job. "It should have been chased down. But the dot balls played by Kedar Jadhav and Ravindra Jadeja didn’t help. And, in my view, some of the Chennai Super Kings batsmen think of CSK as a government job, whether you perform or not, they know they’ll get their salary anyway,” Sehwag told Cricbuzz.
The former cricketer also slammed Jadhav for his poor performance with the bat when he scored only 7 runs off 12 balls. Meanwhile, in the latest episode of his Facebook series ‘Viru Ki Baithak', Sehwag called Jadhav ‘a useless decoration’ in Hindi and sarcastically praised him as the real ‘Man of the Match’ against KKR.
Taking a look at the CSK table, the Yellow Army, have managed just two wins from their six matches of the ongoing season. They will lock horns next with Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday ( October 10).
