Home > News Shots > SportsPost the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore’ (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), captain Virat Kohli took to social media and wrote a heartwarming message after his team made an exit from the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
RCS lost to the SRH by six wickets at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. With this big defeat, it has brought the curtains down on the team’s journey in the tournament.
After the loss in the Indian Premier League 2020 eliminator on Friday, Virat shared a group photograph of the team along with an emotional message.
In his post, Kohli admitted that things did not go their way but he is still proud of the whole RCB squad. “Together through the highs and lows. It’s been a great journey for us as a unit. Yes, things did not go our way but proud of the whole group. Thank you to all our fans for your support. Your love makes us stronger. See you all soon," he wrote.
Looking into RCB's journey in the IPL 2020, they began the tournament with a victory over SRH when Yuzvendra Chahal’s three-wicket haul took them ahead from the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Chahal was even awarded the Player of the Match for his stupendous spell. Towards the end of the IPL, RCB finished fourth on the points table with seven wins and as many defeats.
Talking about yesterday's match, after being asked to bat first, they posted a 131/7 after AB de Villiers scored a half-century. He also got support from Aaron Finch, who scored in the 30s after being asked to bat in the middle order for the first time in the T20 tournament.
Despite SRH losing four wickets early, Kane Williamson and Jason Holder took them over the finishing line with a couple of balls to spare.
