Virat Kohli becomes fastest to 3,000 ODI runs as captain.

India skipper Virat Kohli on Tuesday became the fastest to score 3,000 runs in One Day Internationals as a captain during the 3rd ODI against England at Headingley, Leeds. The Indian run-machine achieved the feat in just 49 innings.


South African cricketer AB de Villiers took(60 innings to reach the landmark 3,000 runs as a captain, while India wicketkeeper MS Dhoni took 70 innings. Former India captain Sourav Ganguly reached the landmark in 74 innings, while South Africa’s Graeme Smith and Pakistan’s Misbah-ul-Haq took 83 innings. And Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya and Australian great Ricky Ponting took 84 innings to achieve the feat.


In the recently concluded T20I series against England, Kohli became the first Indian and the fastest player to reach the 2000-run mark in Twenty20 Internationals. He had taken 56 innings to reach the landmark total.
