VIDEO: VIRAT KOHLI, ANUSHKA SHARMA MAKE AN URGENT REQUEST AMID LOCKDOWN FOR 21 DAYS

Power couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma took to social media and requested fans to stay at home during the nationwide 21-day lockdown which was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday. 

Virat Kohli captioned the video saying, "these are testing times and we need to wake up to the seriousness of this situation. Please let us all follow what's been told to us and stand united, please. It's a plea to everyone".   

Earlier to the video, Virat had made an appeal to fans to follow the fresh guidelines issued by PM Modi. He had also requested the fellow countrymen to "stay at home" for the next 21 days as "social distancing is the only cure".

"As our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri @NarendraModi ji just announced, the whole country is going into a lockdown starting midnight today for the next 21 days. My request will remain the same, PLEASE STAY AT HOME.  #SocialDistancing is the only cure for Covid 19", Kohli tweeted. 

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, sports events have been badly affected as India's three-match One-day International (ODI) home series against South Africa was called. Also, the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) which was postponed until April 15 is sure to get cancelled after the nation wide lockdown.
