History was made at Eden Gardens as team India played its first ever day-night Test match today. The event was attended by who's who from the world of politics and cricket including Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina and Sachin Tendulkar.
Amid all these, the moment that caught everyone's attention was when Rohit Sharma stole a stunning one-hand catch from Virat Kohli to dismiss Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque in the 11th over.
As Haque edged a Umesh Yadav delivery, Virat and Rohit both ran to catch the pink ball. However, an alert Rohit Sharma dived to his right in front of Virat to pluck it out one-handed.
Earlier, Haque won the toss and opted to bat first. “The wicket is dry and hard, so that’s why we want to bat first. It’s a brave decision we feel. It’s a great opportunity for everyone."
India has not made any changes to its squad from the first Test in Indore. “We would have batted first as well. Decent grass cover on it, but it’s a hard pitch. With the pink ball there will be something for the first 15 overs. This is another opportunity for us to come and execute our skills. The challenge is to adapt quickly to the ball. It travels fast and it’s difficult to control. We are fulfilling the responsibility of debuting with the pink ball," Virat was quoted as saying after toss by Cricket Times.
HITMAN DOES IT THE SUPERMAN WAY! 😍🙌@ImRo45 takes a stunner at slips to end Mominul's stay.
