The first T20I match which was to be held between India and Sri Lanka was called off on Sunday (January 5) as rain lashed the city. The match was going to take place at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
Soon after Team India captain and skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl, it suddenly started raining. Because of the rain, the pitch turned damp and refused to dry as water seeped in thorugh the covers.
Even after the rain stopped, the match failed to begin as the ground staffs were trying their best to dry the pitch. At one point, Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant came on to the field to inspect the situation and crisis.
What took everyone by surprise was when, a light roller, a vacuum dryer, hair dryer and steam iron were seen used to dry the pitch. Minutes later, fans on social media trolled BCCI with funny reactions and comments.
Due to rain, both the teams got 1-1 point to their name; the second match will be played on January 7 in Indore and the final will be held in Pune on January 10. Check few of the comments below:
