The Star studded Trailblazers team came out to bat first, but lost NewZealand player Suzie Bates early on in the game. Captain Smriti Mandhana, one of India's top players struggled early on but didn't throw away her wicket. Harleen Deol joined her in the middle and combined for a 119 runs partnership. Harleen Deol trying to accelerate in the end fell for 36 from 44 balls. After a slow start, Mandhana accelerated as she went on to get a brilliant 90 from just 67 balls that took the Trailblazers to a respectable score of 140.
Priya Punia fell early on in the innings but Srilanka's Chamari Atapattu and Jemimah Rodrigues steadied the innings with a 49 runs partnership. Once the two fell, the required rate was slowly rising as Indian Star Harmanpreet Kaur was getting set. NewZealand player Sophie Devine got a few big blows away as she got to 32 from just 22 balls. As the match went down to the wire, it got to 21 needed from the last 2 overs.
With the reputation of Harmanpreet Kaur, it was expected that the Supernovas can win this game but England spinner Sophie Ecclestone bowled a magnificent 19th over as she conceded just 2 runs and picked up a wicket. This meant that it was 19 needed off the last over with experienced Goswami bowling to big hitting Harmanpreet Kaur. She smashed the first, second, fourth and fifth balls for boundaries which and got it down to 3 required off the last ball. However, Kaur was not able to connect the last ball as Trailblazers managed to seak through by 2 runs.
Smriti Mandhana was judged the Player of the Match for the brilliant 90 off 67 balls.
