In the 34th match of ICC World Cup 2019, India faced West Indies at Old Trafford on Thursday. India is the only unbeaten team after New Zealand was defeated by Pakistan on Wednesday.
India won the toss and elected to bat. India, much like the match with Afghanistan, struggled to score a decent number to secure the victory. India scored 268 for the loss of 7 wickets by the end of 50 overs. Opener Rohit Sharma was sent back to the pavillion early in a controversial call. KL Rahul scored 48 of 64 balls.
However, Kohli added 72 runs from 82 balls to the total and secured a few records to his name. Pandya scored a decent 46 from 38 balls. Dhoni, who was criticised again for most dot balls, finally picked up the pace at the end and scored 56 of 61 balls, finishing off the match with his signature six.
What was rocking the stadium was the crowd that changed the stadium into blue, cheering India, making it seem like a home match for India. A picture of the fans cheering in the stadium in England is making rounds on social media showing the love the fans possess for the game.
