Home > News Shots > SportsChennai Super Kings’ player Suresh Raina has returned to India and left IPL 2020 citing personal reasons. He will be missing the entire IPL 2020 seasons. The franchise tweeted about it on Saturday.
"Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season. Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time," CSK CEO KS Viswanathan was quoted as saying on the team's official Twitter handle.
Raina has been an important part of the CSK team since its inception. Raina’s decision could be a loss for the team. Suresh Raina announced earlier that he has retired from international cricket along with CSK as well as India teammate MS Dhoni.
IPL 2020 is set to commence from September 19.
“Meanwhile, at least 10 members of the CSK support staff have also tested positive, which has resulted in the entire CSK contingent needing to undergo a fourth COVID-19 test, due to the development, the team's quarantine period has now been extended till September 1,” NDTV reported.
