Teams like Australia and England have pulled out their key players from the IPL before the tournament got over. The England players were called back by the 23rd of April and the Australian players were called back by 1st of May to prepare for the big Cricket Worldcup thats coming up.
Similarly, the South African coach Ottis Gibson wanted the world cup players to return from the IPL early. But it is said that the Cricket South Africa chief Thabang Moroe did not bring this up with the BCCI. Reports from TimesLIVE suggested that this could be because of the status of India's scheduled tour of South Africa and this might hamper them financially.
A number of South African players have injuries leading into the world cup like Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Dale Steyn, and Rabada. Faf Du Plessis, Imran Tahir, and Quinton de Kock are still part of the IPL and will be playing the finals.
