Shot Put thrower Deepa Malik who became the first Indian woman to win a medal at Paralympics, has revealed that she was shocked to see her name excluded from the list of recipients for the 2017 Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award. The silver medallist from 2016 summer Paralympics tweeted, “Sir @narendramodi An #Olympic2016 Silver bronze got #khelratna n #padmaShri both, my #Paralympic2016 silver effort not at par?” Further, Malik added that she had written to the sports minister asking him to reconsider her application.
