Former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist expressed his shock over the ball tampering incident by the team in the third Test against South Africa. “Really sad, shocked, stunned,” the former batsman said adding that he was standing saddened and embarrassed over the incident. The ball tampering incident was “clearly against the laws of the game”. Gilchrist also reportedly said that the incident has rendered Australia the “laughing stock” of world cricket. He also expressed doubts as to whether Steve Smith can retain his job as national captain.
