SANJAY MANJREKAR REMOVED FROM BCCI'S COMMENTARY PANEL, DOUBTFUL TO JOIN IPL 2020
Home > News Shots > SportsAhead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season, former Indian batsman and renowned broadcaster Sanjay Manjrekar, has been dropped from the BCCI’s panel of commentators.
During the first match between India and South Africa in Dharamsala, Sanjay Manjrekar was not present while the other commentators like Sunil Gavaskar, L. Sivaramakrishnan and Murali Kartik were present.
According to a source quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror, “Maybe he will be left out from the IPL panel too. At this stage, it is not on top of our minds. But the fact is they are not happy with his work."
In the past few months, Manjrekar has been making controversies after he had called Indian bowler Ravindra Jadeja a bits and pieces cricketer during the 2019 ICC World Cup. Later, Manjrekar was also caught questioning the credentials of former cricketer Harsha Bhogle during the Pink-ball Test against Bangladesh.
Currently, the Indian cricket board is dealing with the deadly outbreak of coronavirus. They recently had cancelled the second and third matches of India vs South Africa series and also postponed the IPL 2020 to April 15 instead of the initially scheduled March 29.
