With the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League nearing, the banter has hit the streets as official handles of the teams have started taking digs and throwing witty remarks at each other. The latest addition to the list is Rajasthan Royals - SunRisers Hyderabad.
England bowling sensation Jofra Archer exhibited a phenomenal talent in the recently concluded Test series against New Zealand. A few lethal bouncers from the speedster troubled most of the Kiwi batsmen, including skipper Kane Williamson.
Following the series, Rajasthan Royals (RR) took to Twitter on December 3 to share a picture of Archer's bouncer at Williamson during the Hamilton Test. In the picture, Williamson can be seen ducking to the throw. "Too close for comfort, Kane?" the franchise captioned. In response, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) said, "Bend it like B̶e̶c̶k̶h̶a̶m̶ Kane".
The conversation has garnered considerabale attention from fans of both the teams. "Still couldn't dismiss him once in 2 Tests," commented one Twitter user. "Bend it like Williamson*," wrote another.
Ahead of the IPL 2020 Players' auction, SRH retained their skipper Williamson for INR 3 crores while RR retained Archer for INR 7.2 crores.
Too close for comfort, Kane? 👀
