After India lost to New Zealand in the World Cup semi-finals, fans have been in support of the team's efforts and have welcomed their return with open arms.
But there was something that took fans to shock was when Rohit Sharma returned to India on Friday night with wife Ritika Sajdeh and daughter Samaira. He was seen taking the driver’s seat in his SUV from Mumbai airport.
As per Indian Express report, after returning from London, Rohit Sharma chose to drive while his wife got in the car next to him with their infant daughter Samaira. This seating position raised a lot of eyebrows as it is often recommended that infants should be avoided from travelling alongside the driver in case of serious accidents with or without an adult holding the child.
Many fans expressed concern for baby Samaira calling out her parents for choosing to sit with her in front and not using a child safety seat designed for infants.
After India lost to New Zealand in the semi-finals that was hosted at Old Trafford in Manchester on Thursday, Rohit posted an emotional message on Twitter saying, "We failed to deliver as a team when it mattered, 30 minutes of poor cricket yesterday and that snatched away our chance for the cup. My heart is heavy as I'm sure yours is too. The support away from home was incredible. Thank you all for painting most of UK blue wherever we played ."
