VIDEO: ROHIT SHARMA OPENS UP ON HIS INJURY AS HE RETURNS FOR MIVSSRH CLASH
Home > News Shots > SportsMumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma gave a big surprise to his fans during the match No. 56 of the cash-rich league on Tuesday against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as he marked his return in the IPL after missing out four games.
Rohit, who is currently treating his hamstring injury made his much-anticipated return for the Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL playoffs.
Taking everyone by surprise, Rohit, who was named in the playing XI of the Mumbai Indians today also confirmed his inclusion when he arrived for the coin toss at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
While speaking at the coin toss, the Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper opened up on his injury and said he is 'fit and fine' to play for his team at Sharjah.
“Throughout the tournament there has been a lot of talk about the toss, and we need to take toss out of contention and play good cricket. Looks like I’m fit and fine. We are resting some key bowlers - Bumrah and Boult will rest, Pattinson and Dhawal Kulkarni will replace them. I am coming in place of Jayant Yadav,” Rohit said after the toss.
Rohit suffered his injury during Mumbai Indians' Super Over clash with KL Rahul-led Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the cash-rich league. Weeks after being injured, Rohit was not named in all of India's three squads for the upcoming Australia tour, which irked fans and cricket experts.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview to Hindustan Times, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly finally spoke on Rohit’s chances of making it to the Indian side for the Australia tour.
“With Rohit, we want him fit for Australia. At some stage if he is fit, I am sure the selectors will rethink his position,” Ganguly told Hindustan Times.
