Team India batsman Rohit Sharma has rightly made his place as the opener in Test matches and has also proved himself by smashing his first hundred against South Africa in Vizag.
This was the first time he was opening in Tests where he proudly equaled former cricketer Rahul Dravid's record for most number of fifty-plus scores in Tests.
According to India Today, Dravid had hit 6 massive fifty-plus scores between 1997 and 1998. It was his 4th Test ton and 1st as an opener in home test series.
Looking back at Rohit's Test career when against the West Indies, Rohit made 177 at Eden Gardens before scoring an unbeaten 111 in Mumbai. Also, despite making 5 hundreds in the 2019 World Cup, Rohit was not picked to play the 2 Tests matches in West Indies in August.
He is a man with 3 double hundreds in ODIs and 4 hundreds in T20 Internationals.
