RCB SHARES CLARIFICATION AFTER VIRAT KOHLI GETS 'BRUTALLY' TROLLED FOR DIWALI MESSAGE
Home > News Shots > SportsDays after Team India captain and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli got brutally trolled for his ‘don’t burst fire crackers’ message on Diwali, the franchise came up with a clarification on the same.
Virat Kohli has always been on the receiving end of criticism or judgement from fans either for taking paternity leave for the birth of his first child or for recently sending in a message on 'anti-cracker' Diwali.
Kohli, who is currently in Australia for the series, had taken to social media and shared a message for his fans on Diwali. The message somehow did not go well with netizens who immediately termed him as 'hypocrite' as videos of his birthday celebration in UAE had fireworks.
So minutes after Virat's video went viral on social media, fans started calling him ‘hypocrite’ as RCB’s celebratory video on Virat Kohli’s birthday has visuals of crackers.
Taking to their social media handle RCB wrote; “Hope you are all enjoying a happy and peaceful Diwali with family and friends. To clarify, the fireworks shown in RCB’s recent celebratory video was archival footage of UAE’s Flag Day celebrations. RCB continues to work hard to protect the environment like we’ve over the years,” the tweet read.
Going back to Virat's message, he said “Please remember do not burst crackers to protect the environment and have fun at home with your loved ones with a simple diya and sweets on this auspicious occasion,” Kohli had said in this message.
Meanwhile, Team India is also set to play three T20I and four Tests against Australia on the tour.
