After a day-long interview process, the Kapil Dev-led Cricket Advisory Committee has unanimously reappointed Ravi Shastri as the Head Coach of Team India. Mike Hassan and Tom Moody were the others who made the priority list. Shastri will head the team from September 2019 until ICC WT20 2021.
Earlier today, former West Indies coach Phil Simmons backed from the selection process in the last minute without giving an explanation. Out of the rest five who contested, former Indian all-rounder Robin Singh and former Zimbabwe Head Coach Lalchand Rajput did not make it to the priority list.
Following team India’s knock out in the World Cup, Ravi Shastri along with Skipper Virat Kohli faced wide criticism for team selection and execution. Twitterati showed no mercy in trolling him and demanded a change in the position. There were even speculations that a few players in the team are not happy with the duo’s unilateral decisions.
