In the match against South Africa in ICC World Cup 2019, Dhoni wore a pair of gloves that had the "Balidaan insignia" in it as a way to tribute the nation.
However, it was against ICC rules and they have relesed a statement saying, "The regulations for ICC events do not permit any individual message or logo to be displayed on any items of clothing or equipment. In addition to this, the logo also breaches the regulations in relation to what is permitted on wicketkeeper gloves."
Though BCCI and fans asked for Dhoni to keep the glove, impending the controversy, he was seen without the dagger in his gloves.
However, fans showed placards with the insignia during the match against Australia at The Oval on June 9. In addition to that, a picture of Dhoni's cellphone case is going viral. He has the army insignia print in the back of his phone case.
