PEOPLE SIGN PETITION TO STOP VIRAT KOHLI FROM CONGRATULATING TEAM INDIA IN ICC TOURNAMENTS
Home > News Shots > SportsIn a shocking case, a petition is currently going viral where people are asking Team India captain Virat Kohli and former cricketer Virender Sehwag to stop congratulating Team India in ICC tournaments.
Seems like, India’s ventures into ICC tournaments have been disappointing on a number of occasions. Be it men’s, women’s or juniors’ World Cup or matches; India fell heartbroken.
To overcome this bad luck, a fan identified as Abhinay Thakur started a bizarre petition on Change.org seeking suspension of the social media accounts of Virat Kohli and Virender Sehwag, so that the duo cannot congratulate Team India outfits before any ICC tournaments.
The reason behind this petition- their wishes are considered a curse. This petition began on Sunday after India lost the Women’s T20 World Cup final to Australia by 85 runs. According to a report on The Week, this petition currently has more than 600 people, who have signed for it.
The man behind this is trying his best to get 1,000 signatures. Meanwhile, Thakur’s petition reads as, “Stop Virat Kohli and Sehwag from wishing Indian teams in ICC tournaments especially in Semis/Finals. These both jinxx our victories..! Suspend their social media accounts if they don’t stop posting congratulations post (sic)”.
Both Kohli and Sehwag took to social media and congratulated the Indian women’s team when they qualified for the final. Check out the tweet below:
Congratulations to the Indian Women's team on qualifying for the @T20WorldCup final. We are proud of you girls and wish you all the luck for the finals. 🇮🇳👏 @BCCIWomen
