After hitting twin centuries (176 & 127) in the first Test match against South Africa at Visakhapatnam, Rohit Sharma recorded his maiden double century in Test cricket in the final Test match at Ranchi on Sunday. Also, the team's vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane scored a Ton, adding momentum to India.
Following Rohit's destructive performance, Raunak Kapoor shared a tweet saying that 2019 is a year success for Rohit Sharma. "Three hundreds in the series. Record making twin tons as Test opener, maiden Test double ton, five World Cup hundreds and leading MI to an unprecedented fourth IPL title. 2019 is the year of Rohit Sharma. #INDvSA."
But, former England cricketer Nick Compton, who did not seem convinced with Rohit's records, came up with a controversial comment that triggered Indian cricket fans. "What about when he plays overseas?" Compton tweeted.
Raunak justified his stand by saying, "Whatever he does or doesn't overseas, won't change what he's done this year Compo!."
