MS DHONI’S 'ANGRY' REACTION FORCES UMPIRE PAUL REIFFEL TO CHANGE DECISION; DAVID WARNER AND TWITTER ANGRY!
Home > News Shots > SportsIn match 29 of the ongoing IPL 2020 edition between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the MS Dhoni-led team won by 20 runs.
But soon after the match got over, social media went crazy in expressing themselves about a certain incident that took place on the field.
The incident happened in the 19th over of SRH’s innings, when Dhoni protested a wide ball call, which eventually stopped umpire Reiffel from making the decision.
Highlighting further- CSK bowler Shardul Thakur was bowling to SRH’s Rashid Khan when 24 runs were required off 11 balls for the SRH to win. He had just bowled a full ball that was floating away from the batsman, and it was just past the tramline and umpire Paul Reiffel declared it a ‘wide’.
Soon after that the next ball was similar. This time too, the Australian umpire wanted to stretch his arms and declare another wide, but he looked towards CSK skipper MS Dhoni, who was angry and put his arms out to glare at the umpire.
The following moment, Paul Reiffel’s arms were pulled back, and the delivery was declared to be legal. There was also a little bit of confusion on the field with CSK needing their much-needed victory.
Meanwhile, all this was caught on television cameras even Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner reacted angrily to the umpire’s call which was equally recorded. Eventually, SRH finished at 147/8 in their 20 overs and CSK emerged winners by 20 runs.
After the moment went viral, cricket fans and former players have expressed their disappointment in that over. Some fans even went as far as saying that MS Dhoni bullied the umpire. Check out the video and few reactions below:

2019 - MS Dhoni walking out to argue with the umpires.
2020 - MS Dhoni giving in a stare and the umpire drops his hands.
Thala and umpires - you can write a book about it. https://t.co/tbgrVOFw5e

Thala Dhoni was clearly signalling a wide here, he was trying to assist the umpire but seeing his recent form, umpire decided against it.
