The IPL 2019 Eliminator between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad turned into a nail-biting, drama-filled contest in Visakhapatnam during the final over with only 5 runs to score from 6 balls.
What followed added more to the drama as DC struggled till 5th ball to score the 5 runs and Amit Mishra obstructing the field. After becoming the second person to be dismissed for obstructing, Mishra became the talk of the town. Run out and Mishra goes hand in hand given his comical run out earlier where it took 3 chances to run out him.
DC required only 2 runs out of 3 balls, with Mishra's dismissal, it came down to 2 for 2. On the fourth delivery of Khaleel Ahmed’s over, Mishra went for the big one which he missed. Then, he took off for a single and wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha aimed at the stumps. He missed it as well. Khaleel then collected the ball and took an aim at the non-striker’s end. Mishra changed his track while running and the throw hit him on the arm, in front of the stumps.
Initially given not out by field umpire S Ravi, the decision went upstairs and Mishra was given out for obstructing the field. And soon after the drama, memes started flooding. Here are some.
