In the first game for the Kings XI Punjab this season against the Rajasthan Royals, Ashwin was heavily criticized by ex-cricket players and fans for Mankading Jos Buttler, without giving a warning.
When the Mumbai Indians played against the Kings XI Punjab, there was a similar situation when Krunal Pandya was bowling with Mayank Agarwal at the non-striker's end in the 10th over of the innings.
Krunal Pandya, however, didn't Mankad him and just decided to stop and walk back as a warning and his act was widely appreciated for going by the spirit of the game.
One of the cricketers who openly appreciated this act on twitter was Michael Vaughan.
Respect @krunalpandya24 ... that’s exactly how you deal with a Mankad ... Give the Batsman a warning then it’s open season after that ... #IPL2019
