VIDEO: KL RAHUL GETS SLAMMED AFTER HIS COMMENTS ON DAVID WARNER'S INJURY GOES VIRAL
Home > News Shots > SportsDuring a fielding mishap on Sunday's ODI match, Australia batsman David Warner injured himself and was seen limping off the ground in pain at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Currently, he has been ruled out of the remaining white-ball matches between Australia and India.
After Warner was ruled out from rest of the mathes, D'Arcy Short has been named as Warner's replacement for the upcoming T20Is series. So, Warner will be missing the third and final ODI of the series as well as the three-match T20I series.
Meanwhile, during the post-match press conference after India's loss in the second ODI, Indian skipper KL Rahul was asked to share his views on Warner's injury.
Speaking on a lighter note, he said that it will be good for Team India if Warner is out for a long time.
"We don't know how bad his injury is. It would be nicer if he gets injured for a long time. One of their main batsmen. It is not nice to wish it for anyone but it would be good for the team. If his injury takes a long time, it would be good for our team," Rahul had said in the virtual presser.
Soon after his comments went viral, it did not go down well with several fans on social media. Many criticised him for his remarks on Warner's injury while others pointed out the lack of sportsman spirit in Rahul's comments.
So far in the Australia series, Warner was doing great on the field in the first two ODIs. He notched up successive half-centuries to play an instrumental role in helping Australia clinch the series. Looking into his score chart, Warner made 69 runs in the first ODI while in the second match he scored 83 runs.
Currently, Warner's injury comes as a huge setback for Australia ahead of the three-match T20I series which will begin from December 08.
Meanwhile, check out few of the comments below:
This is the level of the cricketer india produces. They can't win matches with their own performances and now they pray for opponents injuries. They are hammered heavily😂

Sorry to say as a sportsperson you shouldn't say that on the international platform... I am indian and still want warner to play so that our team will defeat them with warner.. Not expected from rahul

Not good even if it was for humour... we need to raise our game to match the Aussies and not wish them injuries so that their game drops to our current level..

Where is the sportsmanship gone? So you expect winning for yeam India only if Warner gets injured? @klrahul11 https://t.co/r9GpXOj3E4

And KL Rahul is a sportsman. He is wishing David Warner remains injured for a long time.
Where's the sportsman spirit?
Despicable! https://t.co/wzuBMlNpAd

Selfish KL, there is no ornge cap here... play for team..... playing run a ball innings when the required RR is 8.00 to start the match is simply nonsense, that to when conditions are fully favourable for batting.

KL has this huge on camera shyness. Probably a poor choice of picking the right words. At least rehearse something bro. This ain't right...
An apology on Twitter might heal the issue a bit...

C'mon Champ! That's not like a sportsman. Rather wishing @davidwarner31 to stay out for long, activate the actual calibre of our team.
They played well. They won hearts.
Love for @Gmaxi_32, @stevesmith49 & of course @hardikpandya7 for the brutal 90.#INDvsAUS #AUSvsIND
