IPL 2020: KIERON POLLARD SHARES BIG UPDATE ON ROHIT SHARMA’S INJURY POST MIVSDC CLASH
Home > News Shots > SportsAs Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma missed his fourth game in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, fans as well as his teammates missed him badly on the field.
Currently, Kieron Pollard is standing as the captain for the team as they faced Delhi Capitals (DC) on Sunday.
Rohit Sharma has not been seen playing for his team as he had suffered a hamstring injury during a match against KXIP earlier this month. Since then, he has been on the bench and taking rest to recover as soon as possible.
Even as Rohit is not playing in the on-going matches for his team, MI have still continued to dominate the games and points table too. So far without a captain, they have only lost one out of three games.
Talking about the match against DC, the Mumbai Indians picked up a 9-wicket win over the Capitals as Jasprit Bumrah and Ishan Kishan were the top performers for the team. While playing against DC, MI easliy chased down the target of 111 in 14.2 overs.
Post the match, when Pollard was questioned about an update on Rohit Sharma’s return. He said that Rohit is getting better and will hopefully be in action soon.
“Rohit is getting better and he’s getting there. Hopefully he’ll be back soon, we’re excited,” Pollard said at the post-match presentation.
Meanwhile, a controversy is hitting headlines over Rohit Sharma’s injury after he was not included in Team India for the upcoming India tour of Australia. After Rohit's name not being in the squads for any of the three formats, fans have criticized the BCCI selectors and demanded his return.
However, talks over Rohit Sharma increased after the batsman was seen practicing at the nets last week.
Amid all the chaos, Mumbai Indians are among the first teams to qualify for the playoffs this season. They will next face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League 2020.
