VIDEO: FAF DU PLESSIS EXPLAINS WHY IPL NEEDS MS DHONI TO PLAY; FANS TOTALLY AGREE!
Home > News Shots > SportsAfter retiring from international cricket, MS Dhoni remains to be an IPL legend with over 4,500 runs to his name along with 23 half-centuries at a strike-rate of 136.75.
As Dhoni's reply to Danny Morrison on his future with IPL hit headlines, fans are overjoyed with Thala's "definitely not" reply.
Meanwhile, after CSK ended their league stage this IPL season, Dhoni's teammates and South African cricketers Faf du Plessis and Lungi Ngidi were in all praise for the 39-year-old Chennai captain.
"We heard MS make a comment bit earlier. He was asked a question if this was the last time, he was donning the yellow jersey and I think his reply put him in his place," Ngidi said while speaking to Du Plessis in a video posted on IPL’s Twitter handle.
However, du Plessis further commenting on the same saying, "When you think CSK, you think of MS Dhoni and also because IPL needs MS Dhoni to play, the fans love him so much, so why not. He still feels motivated and to pitch up every day and come and do... being a big player comes with a lot of expectation and a lot of pressure," Du Plessis told teammate Lungi Ngidi.
"That answer (on coming back) told you he is very much motivated to come back stronger next year. There have been a few rumors floating around I have seen of him possibly retiring. So that answer was possibly a hell no straightaway," he added.
"I think Danny just had a setback after that,” Du Plessis further opined.
Looking into Dhoni's performance in IPL 2020, he did not perform well this season. With only 200 runs without a single fifty-plus score in the tournament, fans hope that he makes it the coming season.
So far in the IPL 2020, Dhoni smashed only seven sixes. His low performance was also one of the main reasons for CSK being eliminated for the first time in IPL history.
