BCCI 'DECIDES' DATES TO CONDUCT IPL 2020 THIS YEAR! - CHECK TO KNOW DETAILS
Home > News Shots > SportsAfter days of announcing on hosting the 13th edition of IPL this year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has started planning for the big day.
Till date, a specific venue or venues have not been finalised but it seems like BCCI has tentatively zeroed in on a month and date.
As per a Mumbai Mirror report, the IPL 2020 will be held between September-end and November-start which could be from September 26 to November 8. These dates can only be confirmed after the expected postponement or cancellation of the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia.
If IPL begins in September, then most probably the venues are expected to be held either in Bangalore or Chennai. Also, if Mumbai improves its COVID-19 situation then the league could be shifted there. Or else, the IPL could be staged at the TNPL and KPL venues, Mumbai Mirror further reports.
Currently, BCCI has been waiting for ICC's verdict on the fate of the T20 World Cup so that it can plan the schedule of the 13th season of the IPL soon. An official announcement from the ICC is still awaited.
