A Committee of Administrators (CoA) appointed by the Supreme Court met in New Delhi on Tuesday to discuss the venue and dates for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 series.
Initially, United Arab Emirates (UAE) was the likely destination to host the 12th edition of IPL if the dates clashed with the country's general elections. However, based on preliminary discussions, it was decided that the 12th edition of the IPL series will be scheduled to play in India. It has also been proposed to commence the series on March 23, 2019. The detailed schedule is yet to be finalised.
IPL Auction was held in December where a total of 60 players, including 40 Indians and 20 overseas players were sold. The total money spent was Rs 1,06,80,00,000. Jayadev Unadkat was the top buy, who was sold to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 8.4 crore.
