During the IPL 2018 auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore bought all four fast bowlers from Kolkata Knight Riders, who dismissed them for IPL's lowest-ever total of 49 runs within the 10th over in the 2017 edition. KKR defended a low score of 131 runs as Chris Woakes, Colin de Grandhomme, Nathan Coulter-Nile picked up three wickets each with Umesh Yadav picking the remaining one. Woakes was bought for Rs 7.4 crore, Yadav for Rs 4.2 crore, Coulter-Nile and Grandhomme for Rs 2.2 crore each during the auction.
