INDIA VS NEW ZEALAND: VIRAT KOHLI COMMENTS ON TAKING REVENGE ON KIWIS FOR WORLD CUP DEFEAT
Home > News Shots > SportsIt was New Zealand that ended India’s dreams in the 2019 Cricket World Cup when the Black Caps defeated Bharat by 18 runs to enter the finale opposite England; the latter eventually took home the cup.
The series in New Zealand would be the first time the teams are meeting after the epic world cup clash.
One would think that Indian captain Virat Kohli would be gunning for revenge. However, he said, prior to the pre-match conference, "Not really. Even if you want to think of revenge these guys are so nice that you can’t get into that zone."
"It’s all about being competitive on the field. They are one side that has set the right example for teams to carry themselves on the international stage. We were actually happy for them when they qualified for World Cup finals. When you have lost you have to look at the larger picture. So, nothing about revenge," he further said.
New Zealand will host India for 5 T20s, 3 ODIs and 2 Tests beginning on January 24.
