Its a proud moment as India has been the top-ranked Test team for three consecutive years now.  They will receive US dollars one million along with the Test Championship Mace again.

Virat Kohli, the Indian Captain, is really proud of this retaining the ICC Test Championship mace and with the depth of squad they have, he believes they can retain this next year as well.

During this year, India had a historic test victory against Australia beating them 2-1, which was their first ever series victory in Australia. They also won against Afghanistan and WestIndies in the home series. However, their tour to England did not meet expectations as they lost 4-1.

Apart from this, India is also currently ranked second in the ODI and T20 formats.
