After five days of play and drama, India have finally come out on top. India have beaten Australia by 31 runs in the first Test at Adelaide. Australia, who were chasing down 324 in their second innings, were dismissed for 291.
Australia were just 31 runs away from the win with 1 wicket at hand. With the Indians getting unnerved, R Ashwin gave the 'Men in Blue' the much needed breakthrough by getting Hazelwood. With this win, India have taken a 1-0 lead in the four-match Test series.
This is also a historic win as this is the first time that India have won an opening match of a Test series in Australia.
Cheteshwar Pujara was awarded 'Player of the Match' for his knock of 123 and 71 in the first and second innings respectively. The next Test will be played from December 14-18 in Perth.
