India medium pacer Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the 3rd ODI against West Indies as he experienced pain in the lower back after the 2nd ODI at Visakhapatnam. Delhi pacer Navdeep Saini has been named as replacement.
“The BCCI medical team examined him and has suggested that the fast bowler needs some rest in order to fully recover,” said BCCI in a statement.
Chahar returned with figures of 0/44 and 1/48 in the first and second ODIs respectively.
On the other hand, Saini returned with impressive figures in the three-match T20 series against West Indies earlier this year.
