Though the weather forecast had predicted 60% of rain before the most anticipated semi-final game between Ind Vs New Zealand, the match started at a brisk pace and gained momentum until 47th over.
New Zealand lost 5 wickets for 211 runs in 46.1 overs when the rain stopped play. Ross Taylor was batting at 66 runs while Tom Latham was batting at 3 runs on the other side. New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson had a decent knock with the bat scoring 66 runs before getting dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja.
Each of the five Indian bowlers took a wicket without conceding too many runs. More than Indian fans, New Zealand fans are desperately waiting for the match to resume soon. Because, though the match is abandoned today it will be played on 10/7/2019 (tomorrow) which is scheduled as a reserve day. However, if it gets called off again, India will directly qualify for the Finals on the basis of Net run rate.
