ICC RESPONDS TO MS DHONI'S 'DEFINITELY NOT' COMMENT DURING CSKVSKXIP CLASH; POST VIRAL!
Home > News Shots > SportsDuring the match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), the 'Definitely Not’ comment was trending on Twitter for all the obvious reasons.
Minutes after CSK captain MS Dhoni was asked if it was the last time he would play in a yellow jersey; to which the Yellow Army captain responded in a calm and relaxed manner saying, ‘Definitely Not'.
As the 13th edition is about to end in a few days, the three-time champions signed off in style by winning their last three games against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).
In the match against KXIP, CSK registered victory in the fixture by 9 wickets and diminished the chances of KXIP in the playoffs.
After Dhoni retired from international cricket in August 2020, fans were sad that with CSK’s poor performance in IPL 2020, many felt that this will be the last time MS will don the Yellow jersey.
But Dhoni cleared the air stating that he will be seen flaunting the yellow jersey again next year. Expressing happiness over this big announcement by Dhoni, the official Twitter handle of the International Cricket Council (ICC) said, “From 1929 hrs consider MS Dhoni as retired? “Definitely not!” #IPL2020.
Talking about yesterday's match, KXIP struggled below-par score of 153 on the board. Mayank and KL Rahul added just 26 and 29 runs from their end. Sadly, the Punjab batters had an ordinary day as they kept losing their wickets at regular intervals.
While, Lungi Ngidi shined with the ball for CSK as he took three wickets while Imran Tahir, Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur took one each to their name.
