India women’s T20 skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who was offered the DSP post in Punjab Police in July last year, on Thursday took to Twitter to express her excitement at joining the post. She thanked Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Railways Minister Piyush Goyal for their support. Kaur, in the Women’s World Cup last year in England, knocked an unbeaten 171 runs against Australia to lead India to the final. The Arjuna Award winning cricketer earlier worked as an Office Superintendent with the Western Railways.
Excited about joining @PunjabPolice as DSP. Thank you Chief Minister @capt_amarinder Ji for pursuing my bond waiver with @RailMinIndia. Your support & encouragement will always keep me motivated to deliver my best. And thank you also @PiyushGoyal Ji for your help in the matter.
