The first T20I match between India and Sri Lanka which was to be held on Sunday (January 5), was sadly called off due to rain.
Soon after the toss took place, the rain dampened the pitch in Guwahati and forced the match into a no-result contest. Despite the rain and weather, the crowd was in full energy and love for the country at the Barsapara stadium.
Suddenly, the crowd started singing 'Vande Matram', which gave goosebumps to all cricket players and every Indian watching this video. This video was shared by BCCI on Twitter, where cricket fans were seen singing 'Vande Matram' while captain Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant can be seen entering the ground to check the condition of the pitch. BCCI captioned the video saying; "Guwahati, you beauty."
The large crowd took out their mobile phones and turned on the flashlights to make the environment even more compelling while they were singing.
What caught everyone's eye was, when the ground staff were trying their best to make the ground dry so that the match can resume.
