GAMBHIR NOMINATES NUMBER 4 FOR INDIA !!!

The number four spot in the Indian team has been under the scanner for a long time now. There have been a lot of opinions floating around this topic.

Once the squad was announced, it was believed that Vijay Shankar will bat at the spot as the selectors had hinted. But his poor form in the IPL has once again brought up this question.

Recently Gautam Gambhir was asked this questions. He first said that it was not fair to drop Rayudu after fixing him as number four. He had done well but recent form has seen him out of the squad. He then said out of the options India has in KL Rahul, Vijay Shankar, and Dinesh Karthik, Rahul will be the best suited at number 4 in the world cup.

He believes that KL Rahul has the best technique to bat at that positions since India could lose early wickets if it is overcast and he is the one who has the ability to win games on his own. Gambhir says Vijay Shankar is more bits and pieces who can give 30-40 runs with the bat and a few overs. He also doubts Dinesh Karthik's technique to bat at 4 in England and believes he is better suited to finish the innings.
