The video of Mahendra Singh Dhoni with shades of tears, while he was returning back to the dressing room after Martin Guptill’s brilliant direct hit, went viral on social media. MSD was the second-highest run-scorer for India in yesterday’s match scoring 50 runs while Ravindra Jadeja remained the top scorer with 77 runs.
At the press conference Virat Kohli confessed for choosing wrong shots by the batsmen and earlier in the post-match presentation, he has reportedly said that dhoni has not talked about retirement either to him or the team. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President of the congress Rahul Gandhi and many other noted personalities appreciated India’s performance in the ICC World Cup 2019 campaign.
Today, former Australian wicket-keeper and batsman, Adam Gilchrist sent an emotional message to MSD saying, “Not sure if you are playing on but thanks @msdhoni You have given the game so much. Always admired your calmness and self belief,”(sic). Meanwhile, the hashtag “ThankYouMSD” started trending nationwide.

Indian fans couldn’t keep calm for the calm and composed MSD’s dismissal as they vented out emotional videos and messages on social media platforms. Yesterday, Chennai Super Kings tweeted, “ There is always a but and and an, if. Nevertheless, he is Never the Less” (sic). Right after the tweet, the star player from CSK’s den Dwanye Bravo replied saying, “He is the greatest ever” (sic).
