Federer holds record for most weeks as world number one

Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer, who turned 36 on Tuesday, holds the record for most number of days as world number one, with a staggering record of 237 weeks consecutively and 302 weeks in over all. Further, the 19-time Grand Slam Champion never retired from a professional tennis match in his 1,358-match long career. Notably, Federer, who turned pro in 1998 and is also the oldest player to win the Wimbledon at 35 years and 11 months, having won the tournament a record eight times.
