A new cricket stadium was opened in Tamil Nadu near Salem on February 9 (Sunday) with world-class amenities. According to the latest reports the fans can soon witness IPL games and Dhoni in the new stadium.
The Stadium was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy in the presence of Rahul Dravid, Rupa Gurunath (President of TNCA) and N Srinivasan (Vice Chairman & MD, India Cements and Former BCCI President).
Reportedly Srinivasan said that the stadium will soon host Indian Premier League (IPL) matches and Dhoni will play to the joy of the audience. The stadium is located in Kaatuveppilaipatti which is 500 km away from Chennai - Salem National highway. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, the stadium was built over 16 acres of land with 5 pitches.
The stadium is the combined effort of many workers for the last 2 years and would greatly benefit the local cricket aspirants. Head of Salem Cricket Foundation Ramaswamy said the stadium will soon have a gallery for the audience to enjoy the game. Further, international facilities on par with established cricket stadiums in the country will be incorporated to the newly-built stadium.
Meanwhile, the video of Edapaadi K Palaniswamy and Rahul Dravid playing cricket on the occasion of the grand event has surfaced on the internet and is doing rounds.
