India took on New Zealand in the ICC World Cup Semifinals first match on Tuesday in Manchester to qualify for finals. Indian bowlers took it hard on the Kiwi batsmen and the match was going good until 46.1 overs where they have scored 211/5.
However, rain had different ideas. Rain interrupted and stopped play and the match was moved to reserve day, Wednesday. However, there is only 0-10% chances of rain. However, if it rains or if the match is interrupted due to other unforseeable situations, DLS will be taken.
The play recommences where it was left at 10.30 in England (3 PM IST). It will be a 50-over match. If the match is interrupted, then the game will be shortened. Right now, as it is seen, India is in a better position. But the wet pitch and rain will be hard on the Indian batsmen.
If the match is shortened, then the score set will be high for India. Kiwis scored only less than 200 in 40 overs. but India will be expected to score about 150 in just 20 overs. Though T20 experience might come in handy for the players, but the pressure is relatively high and the pitch also plays a different game.
If this match is stopped as well, India will qualify as they are in a better position in the points table. What game will nature play is something we all have to wait to see.
