DELHI CAPITALS PACER BECOMES FASTEST BOWLER OF ALL TIME IN IPL HISTORY; CHECK HIS IPL RECORD!
Home > News Shots > SportsDuring the match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), pacer Anrich Nortje has made history in his debut IPL season. He has been quite on the roll in IPL 2020.
The South African fast bowler has picked up 10 wickets from six matches, so far. Also, during his recent match while playing against Rajasthan Royals, Nortje made his place in IPL record-books as he bowled the fastest ball ever in the tournament’s history.
Looking into the record - Nortje clocked 156 km/h and became the fastest ever produced.
This is not the first time where such a record was broken - Notrje’s South Africa teammate Dale Steyn held the record, who had bowled a ball at 154.5 kph.
Meanwhile, Nortje’s record fastest delivery sent back Royals opener Jos Buttler for 22.
When he was asked about his record-breaking delivery, Nortje said; “Really? No idea. Hearing it for the first time. [I’ve] been feeling it the last few days. Nice to see some results. Buttler played them really well. Maybe I was a touch too full. Didn’t expect him to go for a six first ball. Maybe he was expecting something else off that delivery. Stuck to my strength and paid off. Didn’t expect the second ramp."
“Luckily I stuck to it. We’ve got a good coach in Ryan. Lovely working with KG. Tushar has been working in the nets. Enjoying my experience with them. Doesn’t look like it but it’s nerve-wracking. Better to be on the field than on the other side," he added.
Soon after this record was made former Australia speedster took to Twitter appreciating Nortje’s efforts. “Seriously good heat from @AnrichNortje02 156.2kmph,” he tweeted. Even Ian Bishop was quick to appreciate Nortje saying, "Anrich Nortje just knocked Butler over with a 155kph rocket of a ball".
