Home > News Shots > SportsTen days after the 13th edition of the IPL 2020 concluded, the most talked about franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) took to their Twitter handle and thanked fans for their immense support on the social media platform.
Despite CSK's poor performance in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), fans came out in full support for the Yellow Army.
Looking at the records that CSK broke, the MS Dhoni-led squad became the most tweeted about team in IPL 2020, even after standing seventh in the eight-team league table.
Fans of the Yellow Army garnered a lot of support with hashtags like #WhistlePodu which became the second-most tweeted hashtag in UAE while #CSK was third in that category and #Yellove was fourth.
Thanking the fans for so much of love, the squad further shared the statistics provided by Twitter India. "A big gratitude filled #WhistlePodu for each and every super fan who got our back even during the toughest of outings. With your whistles on our side, may the roar get louder. #Yellove you always. #WhistleFromHome #CSK @TwitterIndia", CSK tweeted.
Pointing over the records that CSK broke, they became the most tweeted about teams' section after which Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) followed, with Mumbai Indians (MI) occupying third spot. Among the hashtags, #IPL2020 was the most tweeted one during the tournament in UAE.
In IPL 2020, CSK could only muster six wins this year, and lost eight. Among the whole team, Faf du Plessis was CSK's highest run-getter, who scored 449 runs from 13 games, at a strike rate of 140.75. He also slammed four fifties while his boundary count consisted of 42 fours and 14 sixes.
