Cricket maybe a gentleman’s name but more often than not, we see people sledging others when they can’t seem to get their way. However, a case of sledging in club cricket ensured a cricketer landed in the hospital! Yes, you read it right! During a domestic cricket match, a player sledged so hard that he ended up dislocating his jaw, reports CricTracker!
Hasting Cricket Club’s Jayden Regan shouted so hard in the celebration of having dismissed Dromana batsman Jeff Bluhm that he ended up locking his jaw and was unable to close it. Bluhm was dismissed at 99 with Regan pouching the catch, his excitement knew no bounds with him thumping the air, his shouting occasionally being punctuated with words like ‘yeah’ and ‘finally’ until he dislocated his jaw and had to be rushed to a hospital.
“We got a bit excited and started to carry on as you do. And then I thought, nah I’ll give it a bit more and then the jaw just fell out of place,” Regan was as quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
“Once I got to the hospital I was screaming there. They took me straight in and the doctor had to put his thumbs in the back of my mouth and crack it back in,” he further added.
